Assessment is fun?

In 2006, when I was an assistant professor on the tenure track, I wrote an essay that was published in the Chronicle of Higher Education. The essay was really meant as an homage to the faculty in my doctoral program who had taught me to love playing with ideas. Today I embrace assessment in ways that I did not in 2006.
