In reality, perhaps it was Thatcherism that secured the NHS – just as the NHS was also treated more positively than other areas during the post-2010 austerity, when it was protected against cuts, and also during the pandemic via massive increases in spending and borrowing. According to Robert Maxim, a fellow at the Brookings Institution, Native American student enrollment has dropped by 40% since the 2010-2011 school year. The statistic highlights the urgency needed in addressing the educational crisis for Native communities.
In 2022, our group received an SRHE Scoping Award to synthesise the literature on the development, teaching, and assessment of sustainability literacy in non-STEM higher education programmes. Out of 6,161 articles that we identified as potentially relevant, 92 studies met the inclusion criteria and are reviewed in the report.
To conclude, our study notes that institutional isomorphism is a global phenomenon, with similar trends observed in countries such as China, the US, and Australia (see Bae, Grimm, and Kim, 2023 ; Bk, Atakan-Duman, and Paamehmetolu, 2017 ; Hartley and Morphew, 2008 ; Saichaie and Morphew, 2014 ; Taylor and Morphew, 2010 ).
I contributed to two presentations at SRHE 2023 which both involved an analysis of narratives – the first being political party manifestoes from 1945 to 2019 and the second an analysis of Knowledge Exchange Framework policy.
