The program provides lower-income students from India options through which they can save money as they plan for university, which includes a 90% discount on SAT registration fees and scholarships at participating institutions. We are looking to retain and secure more partners for the India Scholars Program.

A small college within a much larger institution, with its own facilities, faculty, course offerings, scholarship and grant programs and perks for honors students. I think the answer is yes and, as we will see, this builds on the history of university honors, which has radically reworked its model over the past century. Honors 4.0.

Students attend a variety of events, including a Colloquium in Queer Culture and leadership seminars. The college also provides a $20,000 annual Queer Leadership scholarship to qualifying students. BQLP students gain a network of queer colleagues and mentors while also learning how to advocate for themselves and their community.

Just ask yourself: Without sufficient graduate-level training in sub-Saharan African history, how can a teacher effectively respond to student questions? At the risk of some hyperbole, one could argue that the framework (especially after the recent deletions) reflects the state of Black Studies and African American History circa 1980.

John Hope Franklin Award was created in 2004 to pay tribute to Franklin, a historian, writer, educator, and humanitarian who made significant contributions to shaping the perspective of American history in the 20th century. Jackson did that by co-founding the Black Student Union. She called the physicist she met at the summer school.

Accepted students will have access to scholarships, campus housing, dedicated counselors and advisors, and distinguished recognition upon completion of their degree program. Applicants must meet the admissions requirements of Sacramento State, as well as have a GPA of 3.5 or above and a specific interest in Black studies.
